And yet, I feel like there’s still more to the story.

Remember yesterday when that video was going around of Theo Von choking a dude out in a Nashville bar? Well, now that dude has come out and shared *his* side of the story, and let me tell you… Actually, I really don’t know what to make of this.

In the video, the dude explains that he is a Nashville musician and that the video in question occurred on his birthday. Seeing Von in the bar, he decided that it would be funny if the two of them recorded a video together popping his birthday balloons “because he’s a comedian.” Not sure how that’s funny, but fair enough.

“I went up and I said, ‘Will you pop some balloons with me?’” the man recalls. “He turned away and looked like I said something offensive. I leaned in and said, ‘Hey man, I’m a fan. I’m just messing with you.’ He turned back around and then aggressively got in my face. I was confused, so you can see me lean in and say, ‘What?’ And that’s when he grabbed my throat and shoved me back.”

In short, it was kind of exactly what it looked like. Von still overreacted, but my sympathy for this guy remains limited.
